Our Field Trip To Barat Perhentian

What started as a sudden decision turned into a memorable field trip.

From 10 February to 12 February 2026, the Stingray Solution team travelled to Barat Perhentian to carry out a complete POS system installation and setup.

About our client — THE BARAT Perhentian

If you’ve never been to The Barat Perhentian, this is your sign to visit at least once in your lifetime. It’s a Hotel restaurant located in Pulau Perhentian — Terengganu. But it’s more than just a restaurant above the sea, it also offers a homestay with unique and cozy rooms, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind after a long day trip.

Oops! Gotta be back to work before we get to enjoy more of this place!

For the main cashier area, we installed a Pos Mac Main POS, which serves as the central point for managing orders and transactions.

To support the restaurant’s kitchen and preparation areas, we also installed six Zywell waterproof printers. As the restaurant handles seafood and operates in an environment where equipment may be exposed to water and moisture, waterproof printers provide a more practical solution for daily operations.

Seafood Weighing Integration

One of the important requirements for this project was the handling of seafood that is sold based on weight.

To support this process, we installed a SUNMI D3 Pro dual-screen POS together with a weighing scale. This setup allows staff to weigh seafood and use the measured weight during the ordering process.

The dual-screen design also improves the customer experience by allowing customers to view relevant order information while staff operate the POS system.

Sub-POS Setup for Faster Service

Besides the main POS system, we also set up several Sub-POS stations for the restaurant’s waiters.

Instead of relying completely on the main cashier to handle every order, waiters can use the Sub-POS system to manage customer orders more efficiently.

This helps improve the overall workflow by reducing unnecessary movement between tables and the cashier while allowing orders to be processed more quickly.

Staff Training and System Familiarisation

Installing the hardware is only one part of implementing a POS system successfully.

After completing the installation and configuration, our Stingray Solution team also provided training for the restaurant staff.

During the training session, we guided the team through the main functions of the POS system, including:

  • Managing customer orders

  • Using the main POS and Sub-POS

  • Printing orders to the relevant preparation areas

  • Using the weighing system for seafood

  • Navigating the system during daily operations

The purpose of the training was to make sure the staff were comfortable and familiar with the system before using it during actual restaurant operations.

END for our Perhertian

After three days of installation, configuration, testing and staff training from 10 to 12 February 2026, the system was ready to support the restaurant’s daily operations.

At Stingray Solution Sdn Bhd, our goal is not simply to install POS equipment, but to provide businesses with a solution that matches the way they operate.

Whether you are running a restaurant, café, retail outlet or other business, the right POS setup can help simplify operations, improve service efficiency and give your team better control over daily transactions.
